She lived each day with love for her family and enjoyed many precious days spent with her sister-in-law, Vianne Saunders. Her faith was her foundation, and she found comfort in the promise of eternal life. As she enters heaven, we take solace in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband: Frank, cherished daughter: Diane, beloved son-in-law: Robert, and precious granddaughter: Charli.

Mourning her loss are her beloved children: Loni (Keon), Danny (Linda), Junior (Maxine), Faye (Mark) and Scott (Lori). As well, she leaves to mourn 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many family and friends who knew and loved her.

Mary’s laughter, kindness, and fun-loving spirit were gifts she shared freely with everyone around her. She brought people together with her warmth and especially her passion for berry picking. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and community. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and countless cherished memories.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held in the coming days, and we invite all who loved her to join us in honoring her incredible journey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you carry her legacy forward by loving deeply, laughing often, and embracing the peace that faith brings.

GENGE, JAMES M.

September 30, 1935 - November 29, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Genge announce his passing at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on November 29, 2024 at the age of 89 years.

Anyone who knew Jim, knows that he worked hard to provide for his family throughout his life. Jim wore many hats; electrician, dump truck driver, woodcutter, and fishing captain. No matter what job he had at any particular moment- everyone spoke about how hard of a worker he was, and his “never quit” attitude.

What Jim loved most was being with his family. He enjoyed many camping trips, spending time at his cabin in Round Pond, and trout fishing in 10 Mile Pond. Jim loved hearing about all of his children, grandchildren, sibling, and how their families were doing.

He was known to be a bit of a braggard at times, usually exaggerating a little bit when telling tales to others. This was how Jim showed his love- it was his pride in his family. You knew it was the most important thing in his life. This is how Jim should be remembered.

Jim will forever be remembered and missed by his Children: Randy (Dale), Julie (Bruce), Wade (Edith), Rona, Cassie (Garf); Grandchildren: Bruce, Jadean, Edith, Jolene, Nyiesha, Dax, Sammi, Blair; Greatgrandchildren: Rebecca, Ashton, Ryan, Eric, Jaden, Zander, Kyla, Luke, Emma, Carter, Claira, and special grandson: Jason.

He will also be remembered by his siblings: Rufus, Cecil (Christine), Marion, Bernice, Eleanor (Arthur), Mildred (Cyril), Ren (Bertha); Sister-in-law: Vivian, and their families.

Jim is predeceased by his Wife: Susan, Parents: Walter and Minnie; Brother: Simeon; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Sophia, Olivia, Steve, Winston, and Bob.

The family would like to send many thanks to the staff of the Curtis Memorial Hospital for all the compassionate care during Jim’s last four months. He loved each and every one of you dearly.

We would also like to send a very special thanks to Aunt Eleanor who spent many hours caring for her dear brother, and Rev. Canon Vernon Short for his many visits to Jim over the past few years.
