During the early morning hours of Sept 20, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, Freeman Parsons, age 80, passed into the presence of his Lord whom he so faithfully served. Freeman lived most of his life in Goose Cove, a hard working fisherman, he knew the value of a good days work. When the fishery closed in the early nineties he moved both house and home to St. Anthony.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and faithful friend. A deep void has been created in the Parsons family due to Freeman's passing. He will be sadly missed by his wife Hazel who devoted herself to caring for him.  They shared a love story that spanned over 55 years.  Even in his final days when disease and pain wrecked his body and mind he still lit up when she entered the room.  His children Phyllis (Ivan) Simms, Gail (Milton) Roberts, Wallace Parsons, Penny Parsons (Brian), grandchildren Sandra, Danielle, Cody will all acutely feel the loss of a wonderful father and grandfather.  He is predeceased by his father Jehu, mother Frances, sisters Myrtle, Dulcie, and Vashti, brother Jehu and daughter-in-law Kim. Freeman's funeral service took place Sept 23rd at Bethel Pentecostal Assembly in St. Anthony. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
